10x appoints Neil Drennan as CTO

London, 4 April 2018 – 10x Future Technologies, the financial services transformation business, has appointed Neil Drennan from Amazon as its new Chief Technology Officer.

Drennan, who led a number of software development teams for Amazon video, brings extensive experience in technology, strategy, interactive services, and digital platform design, development and delivery. He will be responsible for technology development and delivery as 10x Future Technologies finalises the rollout of its financial services platform for existing and future clients. His previous senior technology and engineering roles included positions at BBC Worldwide, Virgin Media, ITV, British Gas, Sky and Deloitte.

“The financial services industry faces profound transformation caused by technology over the coming years,” said 10x founder and Executive Chairman Antony Jenkins. “10x exists to harness this technology to make people’s lives ten times better, and Neil’s commitment to the transformative power of technology over the course of his career will be invaluable as we continue to scale our business.”

Drennan will be working alongside Tam Holmes, the former head of digital security and fraud at Lloyds Bank, who joined 10x Future Technologies as its Chief Digital and Trust officer in 2017. Drennan and Holmes will be responsible for coordinating the product and technology teams to effectively deliver the 10x vision of flexible, highly scalable, low latency, secure, fault-tolerant, resilient and recoverable technology solutions at a global scale.

Commenting on his appointment, Drennan said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such a dynamic technology business at a time of rapid technological change. Digital financial services are set to revolutionise how we use and manage our money, and 10x’s team is building a universal platform that will allow companies to offer cheaper, more timely and relevant services.”

In September 2017, 10x Future Technologies closed one of the largest ever series A funding rounds in a European FinTech firm and agreed the development of two major strategic partnerships with leading global consultancy and financial services firms, Ping An and Oliver Wyman, to further build out its digital offering and expand to some of the world’s fastest-growing markets.

10x’s banking platform will allow financial services providers to bring together their customer data into a secure, cost-effective architecture, and to use machine learning and other artificial intelligence technologies to leverage that unified data to provide a better, more personalised service to their customers.
