About the role

10x is seeking a Site Reliability Engineering Technical Program Manager (SRE TPM) to lead it’s highest-impact, largest-scale, site reliability delivery programs. SRE TPM responsibilities include collection of business and systems requirements from both internal customers and external clients, clarifying requirements, documenting specifications, driving global program schedules from design to release, and managing production launches.

Our SRE team drives complex business problems, leveraging both company-wide platform solutions as well as designing them from the ground up.

Delivery is a key part of the client and end-customer experience at 10x. We build global technology solutions, going beyond localisation to customise programs to the logistics and financial standards in each country where we operate. Not only must our platform AWS cloud-based banking platform scale in a reliable and predictable style, but it must adapt to local requirements and component availability.

The right candidate will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal geographically dispersed teams and clients and 3rd party partners to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimise time-to-market delivery, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote satellite teams.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current cloud-based technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

As a SRE TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance both client and business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities include working with product management to define strategy and requirements, identifying and securing commitment from teams across the company for new initiatives, driving consensus on the technical approach, setting timelines, and leading cross-functional development and engineering teams from design through delivery. You'll need to be a strong project manager with technical and business acumen as well as an excellent communicator, whether working with developers or engineers or providing updates to internal and external leadership.

Who is able separate what's important from what's urgent and find the best path forward from among multiple scenarios, earn the trust of stakeholders, and improve the efficiency and reliability of our cross-functional organisation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Industry recognised Agile PM Practitioner Certification (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with AWS Cloud technologies (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Operational Excellence
  • Technical Program Management experience in the SRE or DevOps space
  • Experience with agile/iterative development and program management methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive presentation skills


  • Experience in managing technical engineers
  • Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
  • Ability to analyse business requirements, write specifications, scope technical requirements, manage multiple software development efforts, drive rigorous testing, and coordinate product launch
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional, cross-organisation teams to negotiate and assemble project plans, secure commitments on deliverables, and resolve blocking issues
  • Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, and robust technical solutions
  • Experience building solutions in distributed systems and/or developing support focused tooling
  • Experience analysing end-user experience design and developing high profile client facing products with intricate end-customer experience workflows
